Garage Floor Concrete Slab in Pomeroy, Ohio
A dusty, muddy dirt and gravel garage floor in Pomeroy was replaced with a smooth, reinforced concrete slab sloped to drain out the door.
The Challenge
This Pomeroy garage had a dirt and gravel floor that was always either dusty or muddy depending on the weather. That kind of floor is hard to keep clean, tracks mess into vehicles and the house, and makes the garage less useful as a workspace. The homeowner wanted a proper concrete floor that would stay clean and drain well.
What We Did
Our crew graded the garage floor area and compacted a stone base to give the slab firm, even support. Over the base we laid a vapor barrier to help limit moisture coming up through the floor, then placed reinforcement for added strength.
We poured a smooth slab with a slight slope toward the door so any water from vehicles or cleaning drains out instead of pooling inside. All concrete cracks eventually, so we cut control joints to control where cracks form and keep them neat.

The Result
The garage now has a smooth, clean concrete floor in place of dust and mud. With a vapor barrier underneath, reinforcement inside and a slope toward the door, the slab is ready for vehicles, storage and work.
