The Challenge
A wooded hillside lot in Jackson needed to be cleared and prepared for a new home and detached garage. Jackson County's rocky ground can stop a project in its tracks, and a steep, overgrown slope offers no level place to build or route for trucks. The lot needed clearing, shaping, drainage and access before the builder could begin.
What We Did
Our crew cleared the trees and brush, stripped and stockpiled the topsoil, and then cut and filled the hillside to create a level, compacted building pad. Where we ran into rock, we broke it out and removed it so the pad could be brought to the right grade.
We dug the utility trenches and built a graded gravel access drive so the builder could get trucks onto the site. Drainage and erosion control were put in place as part of the site work, so the lot was ready to handle rain before construction moved forward.

The Result
