Septic Tank Replacement in Athens, Ohio
After a failed pumping inspection revealed a cracked tank wall, we replaced this Athens homeowner's septic tank before bigger problems set in.
The Challenge
After a failed pumping inspection, this Athens homeowner learned their old septic tank had a cracked wall. The crack was letting groundwater in and waste out, which overloads the system and can contaminate the surrounding soil. Replacing the tank promptly was the best way to stop the problem before it caused bigger and more costly damage to the rest of the system.
What We Did
Our crew excavated around the old tank and removed it from the ground. We then prepared a compacted base and set a new concrete septic tank level on it, so the replacement would sit solidly and keep its connections properly aligned over time.
With the new tank set, we reconnected the house line and the outlet to the field. We added an access riser to make future pumping and inspections easier, then backfilled around the tank and smoothed the yard back out so the property was left in good shape once the replacement was complete.

The Result
