A complete new septic system for a new home outside Athens, laid out for clay-heavy soil and installed by one crew from tank to final grading.
The Challenge
A new home build just outside Athens needed a complete septic system. Athens County's clay-heavy soil does not drain like sandy ground, so the system had to be laid out carefully and installed precisely to the approved design if it was going to perform for decades. Getting the tank, lines and field right from the start was essential.
What We Did
Our team excavated for the new tank and set it level, then installed the distribution lines and leach field to the approved design. Throughout the dig, we kept the topsoil separate from the subsoil so it could go back on top where it belongs once the system was in.
We backfilled and compacted in lifts to avoid settling, then restored the yard with final grading so the field drains properly and the site is ready for seed. One crew handled the digging, tank setting and field work from start to finish, so there was no juggling of multiple contractors.

The Result
