Septic Tank Replacement in Jackson, Ohio
A rusted-through steel septic tank in Jackson was dug out and replaced with a new concrete tank, reconnected to the existing field with an access riser.
The Challenge
A Jackson homeowner's old steel septic tank had rusted through and was collapsing at the lid. Steel tanks were common years ago, but they corrode over time, and once the lid starts to give way the tank becomes both a failing system and a safety hazard in the yard. The tank needed to come out and be replaced before things got worse.
What We Did
Our crew dug out around the old tank, removed the failed steel tank, and prepared a compacted base in the hole. We then set a new concrete septic tank level on that base so it would sit solidly and function the way it should for years to come.
With the new tank in place, we reconnected the inlet from the house and the outlet to the existing leach field. We added a riser to the tank so future pumping is quick and easy, then backfilled and graded the yard back to shape, keeping disturbance to the lawn to a minimum throughout the swap.

The Result
The homeowner now has a sound concrete tank in place of a collapsing steel one, tied into the existing leach field. The new riser makes routine pumping simple, and the yard was graded back to shape with minimal disturbance.
